Hyatt Regency at Goat Island

Sinkholes undermined the parking lot due to a deteriorated concrete seawall. In addition, the bridge adjacent to where heavy construction was to take place was in a critical state due to unbalanced and deteriorating concrete foundation piers. Land based and water inspections including a geotechnical subsurface investigation, concrete crack monitoring, and timber pile investigations were conducted. NE&C designed repairs for the bulkhead/ anchor system, parking surface, and marina access and specified both short and long term bridge improvements.
