NE&C congratulates the Aquidneck Land Trust for the successful completion of the Sakonnet Greenway Trail

NE&C recently joined many others including Governor Lincoln Chafee, RIDEM Director Janet Coit, and Aquidneck Land Trust Executive Director Ted Clement at the grand opening of the new 5 mile segment of the Sakonnet Greenway Trail. The 5 mile trail joins an existing trail previously designed by NE&C as part of the Newport National Golf Course development. The combined 10 mile trail runs along the eastern side of Aquidneck Island and includes learning kiosks and timber bridge wetland crossings. It provides exercise, recreation, and hands-on educational opportunities for the students, residents, and visitors of Aquidneck Island.

NE&C was proud to assist the Aquidneck Land Trust in the design and permitting of the trail and wetland crossings. We supported the project by providing surveying, site design, and structural design services.
