Northeast Engineers & Consultants has provided structural engineering services for a new addition to the Marine Science Laboratory at Roger Williams University in Bristol RI. Initially designed as an annex to the existing Marine and Natural Science building to house an oyster hatchery laboratory, cost considerations required the re-evaluation of the original design components. The concept now being implemented is an addition to the existing building. The addition consists of a single-story structure with a total square footage of 4,100 square feet. The roof structure is flat with atrium glass skylights. The building was designed with considerations for future floor level.
